Great to see and read you writing about psychiatric subjects again (what in life isn't a psychiatric subject!), and Solomon's book and opinions in particular.

I have questioned for a very long time (since 2001 the question had been conscious, but the question had been there since I was little and could first name and distinguish my feelings, particularly a lingering sadness that did not easily resolve, and inhabited my body): "Is depression hidden anger?" From my experience, I have tended to answer "no" because my anger is fairly well open - whether constructive, destructive or neutral.

It would be great to have a book dedicated to the child victim of involuntary psychiatry.

Solomon describes some of my worst fears, for instance, the woman who forgot everything she learnt in law school. I have had similar effects from the first year of treatment with the pharcopeia, though other things, like stimuli deprivation, could have to do with it as well.

Writing a letter is indeed therapeutic. Hilary and Piers du Pre did it. Hilary wrote a letter to her 'dearest, darling Mum' and the letter became A Genius in the Family.

And the forgiveness factor. Yes. The person should as well as saying sorry, be sorry too. Repent.

The amplitude probably wouldn't get to people who have had the 'deaf effect' (Jeremy Griffiths: Foundation for Humanity's Adulthood).

I have been reading lots about introjects and engulfments today.

Thanks for your insightful post, Adelaide.

@ Great to see and read you writing about psychiatric subjects *again* [my emphasis].

Have we met before?

@ "Is depression hidden anger?" From my experience, I have tended to answer "no" because my anger is fairly well open.

Very interesting. I am living in almost poverty and know that when I feel down in this Third World country obviously it’s not repressed anger, but lack of opportunities. Yeap!: Not every form of depression is repressed anger. However, I use my fury to write a lot, especially in Spanish. Creative work helps.

@ It would be great to have a book dedicated to the child victim of involuntary psychiatry.

I did it: the second book of my series (it’s in Spanish, alas…).

@ Writing a letter is indeed therapeutic.

Ibid! The *first* book of my series.
